HOW TO REDUCE YOUR DIE LOADING TIME IN HIGH PRESSURE DIE CASTING ??
ANSWER ::
THERE ARE FEW STEPS IN DIE LOADING IN HPDC

1. PREPARATION
2. MOUNTING
3. SETTING
4. FIRST OK "ON SHOT
TIME BETWEEN LAST OK SHOT TO FIRST OK SHOT IS YOUR TOTAL DIE CHANGEOVER TIME.


  1. PREPARATION : There are some parallel activity and some planed activity which must be keep in mind during Die change over.  
  • During Die unloading the Die that to be loaded must be near by machine or in crane approach area.
  • The die that we have to load must be completely ready. such as its cooling, hydraulic cylinder leakage test, core signal , die face condition , pins condition , punch conditions and other points in Die check sheet must be check.
      2. MOUNTING :By using hydraulic clamp we can reduce the time of unclamp.
                         Four clamp in each side minimum. i.e depend on size of Die
             Manual Unclaming Time is approximate 15 minutes for both Fix and Moving block.
             Hydraulic Clamping time is only 30 second maximum for on side i.e either fix or moving.
             Disassembled the ejector road and pipe line unload the Die and change it with planed Die. 
        
      3. SETTING : Now the maximum time consumed after Die loaded is set-up time.
  • Alignment of Die , Changing of Sleeve , plunger road , limit switch setting signal test, furnace ladle cup size and others. Some of activities are can be run parallel to Setting activities. Such as ladle cup change, hydraulic line, pneumatic line and cooling line.
   How to save time in Setting Of Die
  • Spray head must be prepared before Die changeover . Don't use single spray for different component  Die. Different Die must have Different Spray Head.
  • Always use connectors in core wires to protect wire from wastage.
  • Always use Plug in The core connection to save the time during core connection signal testing.it also reduce the breakdown of core signal missing problem.
  • If possible use "Read switch" i.e magnetic piston cylinder instead of Limit switch.
  • Make chuck nut of ejectors rods nut.
     4. FIRST OK "ON SHOT : 
  Most of machines have Files saving facility .
so always saves your component setting in machine memory so that it reduce your time to set the parameter and sure you for a good quality product.
Now take some off shots as per WI.
Always use waste plunger oil for Off shots or warm up shots, this oil prevent the casting stuck in dies. Always close the cooling of block during warm up shots.

After some warm up shots (as per component WI ") open the cooling line and use Die lub spray for fast shots.
